Folks of the Ventari: (wanted to sound ominous/culty)

I try and sell golds on here, and I do know that they are not modded with the creme de-la creme of mods and what not. But I had a light go off and I want to know if its the proper approach.

Rather than worry about what they have for mods (to sell them) price them at a fair/bargain price to get them out of my way and let people get a hold of the upgrades to make them better. My goal with selling them at all is to offset the cost of my lockpicks (and bag a little coin when the item is worth it) so I can keep doing what I do.

Thoughts or guidance? I'd appreciate it.

i personally never mod specifically for a sale. i will however, while chest running, save good mods and quickly mod whatever weapons i choose to keep that i may sell. for the most part, from what i've experienced, with weapon sales 30k+ the buyers don't really care about the mods. although u'de obviously wanna add some more on the top for a perfect HSR offhand insc. :P
whats annoying is with the smaller weapon trades, people don't even wont it if it isn't modded. thats very frustrating, and the reason why i use guru for those trades.

apples to oranges. nobody changes a car thats perfect. gw weapons all have to be customized to what the use for them might be. nobody would use a no mod dropped 15^50 Crysta without adding a handle or hilt. but if u were the seller would that affect the price? No.
but would buying it from a "Friend" vs a person u were actually friends with affect the price? obviously! gotta take those deals where u can, huh?

I never mod items I have for sale. Mostly because I hate when people mod theirs and I have to re-mod the item all over again to better suit my needs. Sell the item, let the buyer mod it as he likes.

I would assume you have some success with this? I get some perfect damage weapons or shields that are R9 or R10, inscribed and basically fully customizable. To sell an item like this for 2-3k (ignoring the built in mods that would be changed by the user anyways) isn't sacrilegious is it?

Nope, but I wouldnt screw on a cupholder onto the dashboard to sell the Porsche either. In GW, the dust would actually make the item worth more, the more dust has accumulated. The older an item is and the more obvious it is old, the higher the worth.

I never mod low end items for sale, for higher and high end items I would mod it to something half way decent (Selling an r8 staff with a +24HP mod doesnt look as good as the same staff with the +30HP wrapping). But that is purely to make the item more attractive. The buyer will probably change the mods anyways.

In most cases it's the skin that sells the item, not mods. Especially if we're talking about inscribable items. And you don't sell them for 2-3k. That stuff goes to heroes, your gf and friends that came back after years of not playing.

If you're only interest in trading is to cover the cost of lockpicks, I would suggest selling them as unid. (common skins)

ID and sell only the better/rarer skins.

Wouldn't u have to re-mod it anyhow? If it has crap mods....your gonna need to mod it...if it has good mods that u don't suit your purpose....your gonna need to mod it.

I don't have to waste perfect salvage kits on items with crap mods - I simply mod over them. Also, a guy can take the "perf modded" spam only so much. Sundering on a shortbow? COME ON, PEOPLE!

Buyers who complain about the lack of "perfect" mods on an item are time-wasters, pure and simple. They'll also almost never pay market value for the skin plus the mods.

For example, say you're selling a spear that's worth 20k for the skin alone. The spear also has a Furious head and a perfect fortitude grip. Those mods are worth a combined ~16-20k if sold separately. The same idiots that demand perfect mods will (nine times out of ten, in my experience) flame and insult you for asking 40k for your spear. They'll offer 25-30k *maybe*, but most likely will say something like "C'mon dude, that spear is only worth 10k clean. I'll give you 20k for it."

My standard reply to buyers who gripe about "perfect" mods is "Ok, best of luck finding what you're looking for".

The idiots who are *really* hard to believe are the ones who complain about mods on items that are worth 100k+. I mean really, if you're paying 50e for something, is it worth creating a hassle for the seller over 5-10k worth of mods?

Never waste time on mods. Not worth the time and effort. Malice has it right about selling unids honestly - best way to offload a bunch of stuff quick and easy and sell the nicer stuff to make more.
